The golf facilities include the 18-hole championship course, grass and mat driving range, putting green and separate short game area. The clubhouse features a nicely stocked pro shop plus locker rooms with showers and saunas for men and women. The restaurants, cafes and pubs are adjacent. Golf carts are equipped with rear covers to protect clubs during inclement weather, plus ice chests.

The finely manicured golf course features bluegrass tees and fairways and bent grass greens which are medium and size and mild in undulation. Most fairways are flanked by mature hardwoods and pines, with strategic bunkering often near the landing zones. There is recovery room on most holes, off the tee and greenside. Land in the deep fairways traps however, and par or better is less likely.

There are 53 sand bunkers in total, and water is also an important feature, with hazards in the form of ponds or creeks in play on 11 of the holes. The parkland terrain is very hilly, with some sloping fairways creating uneven lies as the result of offline tee shots. Several holes demand a carry off the tee, although from the front tees these carries are quite manageable.

During our mid-September visit, the course was in excellent condition from tee to green. The course is also well marked, with the Kirby System in place on both the cart paths and fairways (markers every 25 yards from 200 – 75 yards out). Sprinkler heads are also measured to the center of the green, and color coded flags indicate the days front, middle or back hole locations.

There are 4 sets of tee boxes with distances and slopes measuring 7026 yards/139 slope, 6454 yards/136 slope, 5987 yards with a slope of 127 for men and 142 for women, and 5077 yards with a slope of 123 for ladies hitting from the forward sets. Inverness is a player friendly layout - with a traditional design that is greatly appreciated by members and resort guests. If you have a chance to stay here - take the opportunity to play!
